March 19, 2020, I received a statement from Rev. Donald Immel, Superintendent of the Pennsylvania-Delaware District Council of the Assemblies of God. Governor Wolf also issued new guidelines asking that all non-life sustaining businesses close.

After much prayer on this matter and after viewing all advice from our church and government leaders, I am making the painful decision to close Mountainside Assembly of God until further notice. This includes all scheduled meetings and activities.

In this interim period, we will utilize all available technology means we have to keep our church family connected. We will be providing our services, Bible studies, classes, etc., during all posted times via the internet. Our Facebook page is monitored for prayer requests, comments, questions, and other correspondence. I am also checking the church’s voicemail service daily for messages at our offices.

Finally, this is going to put a tremendous stress on our financial position. I simply ask that you continue to do your very best in keeping up with your tithe, offerings, missionary/benevolence gifts, etc. We must continue to pay all of our obligations. You can mail them to us at Mountainside Assembly of God, 1900 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, PA 17866. You may also use online giving at by clicking here

If you need to speak with me for anything, my mobile # is 570-809-5612. To be even more personal, I’ll gladly use Google Duo, Skype or Facebook messenger to talk face-to-face with you. At any rate, I’m here for you (electronically) as our offices are also closed until further notice. Thank you for your patience and prayers.

You are also in my prayers for protection and good health.

Serving Christ,

Rev. Dr. Michael T. Goodling, D.Min. Senior Pastor
